In 2019 I made one of the best decisions for myself – I joined WW formerly known as Weight Watchers. After just a few months on the program, I started seeing results and I’m now a WW Ambassador. Here’s the back story of why I joined and why I love WW.

Before I Joined

I struggled with my weight for 20 years before deciding to pull the trigger and join. Even though I tried different things over the years, none of them really stuck or brought long-term results. After my son was born, my weight started to climb almost back to my pregnancy weight. I had to make a shift.

Once I returned to work after maternity leave, I started getting emails about my company’s partnership with WW. This wasn’t anything new; I just wasn’t open to it before. In the past, I thought WW was just a lot of work. There wasn’t an app so you had to keep a food journal, look up foods in a book, attend weekly meetings, and weigh in – and I wanted no parts.

Why WW Now?

But this time was different. This time, it was WW, it was wellness-focused, there was an app and the option to be a digital-only member. And there was the goal of reaching ‘lifetime’ where your membership is free once you reach and maintain your weight loss goals. I was open to it and that free membership was great motivation. I thought of the monthly fee as my self-care investment. I needed to get healthy for my son by any means.

I joined, and never looked back. To read more on my journey as a WW member for the first 6 months, read my story on WW.com here! As of the moment I’m righting this post, I’ve lost 30 pounds* and I’m half-way to reaching my lifetime goal of losing 60 pounds.
