While I love a nice cup of tea, I do enjoy coffee as well. I usually drink coffee when I’m not at home, but Mr. Blakes does make coffee at home on the regular. The problem with Mr Blakes, is that he doesn’t measure how much coffee he puts in the filter. But he likes it, and he drinks it, so it’s all good. Many people consider coffee a staple and there are so many trendy ways to make coffee at home, more than ever before. Cold brewed, iced, french press – the preparation methods and additives are endless! Whether you switch to iced coffee in the summer or enjoy a hot cup all year long, there are many ways to make your favorite cup created just for you, by you.
We had an opportunity to interview The Domestic Geek, Sara Lynn Cauchon. Sara broke down the brew for us and demonstrates the different ways to make coffee at home, including how to brew coffee with a french press, auto-dip coffee maker and the pour over method. She also showed how to properly prepare iced coffee and cold brew coffee and explain what the way you brew says about you.
Sara Lynn Cauchon wants to make eating well a lot more delicious. Since launching her YouTube channel, The Domestic Geek, in April 2014 she has earned more than 600,000 dedicated subscribers who appreciate her fresh, fuss-free approach to cooking. She has hosted a number of television programs including Diva On A Dime, GirlzTV and HGTV’s Rooms That Rock, for which she was nominated for the GEMINI Viewer’s Choice Award for Best Host In A Lifestyle Series.
When Sara Lynn isn’t on set, you’ll most likely find her in the kitchen. Her love affair with food started nearly 20 years ago when she would eagerly help her mom with dinner. Since then, good food has become an obsession. And, although she is not technically a chef, she spends most of her spare time whipping up delicious recipes for friends and family.
This interview is provided by Folgers. That’s the coffee that I always have purchased for Mr. Blakes to make his coffee at home. What’s your favorite way to brew coffee? We’d love to hear about it.
