When I received an email from author Audrey Davis-S asking me to preview her newest book, The Science of Transitioning: A Complete Guide to Hair Care for Transitioners and New Naturals, I was very excited. My experience transitioning from relaxed to natural hair was horrible. I really wish there was a resource like this around that really tackled all the elements of transitioning from relaxed to natural when I was going through this process. 6 years later, and I can still see all the knowledge and wisdom this book has to offer.
In this video, I share all of my fails as I transitioned from relaxed to natural. I also share a few highlights from the book, The Science of Transitioning: A Complete Guide to Hair Care for Transitioners and New Naturals. This book is a must-have for transitioners and new naturals to help you survive transitioning from relaxed to natural with ease.
I would really love to get this book.
This book would be a great help to me. I have tried to transition two times before only to relax at eight months post relaxer. I have had success with relaxed hair but I am starting to find versatility in natural hairstyles. I have been relaxed for six years . My current hair length is between apl and bra strap length. I always had long thick hair (relaxed and natural). I would love to transition instead of big chopping.
I’m not transitioning & only did so about 8 or 9 months before I big chopped over 1yr ago, but my cousin called me the night before last telling me she was ready to transition. She says she’s tired of her 9 yr old asking why they don’t have the same hair & why she can’t have a relaxer. So IT’S NOT BY ACCIDENT that I received this email today & I would LOVE to be able to use this BLESSING to BLESS her on this new & exciting journey!
Hello!
This book would be a tremendous help for me. I transitioned for a year and a half and then big chopped. I used youtube as a guide during that time, however, a lot of the things I did was just from me giving an idea a try. Now that I am natural, I am completely lost. I have no idea what to do with my hair. All that I can do is flat iron it and wear it straightened but I really dont like using so much heat in my hair. I would hate to get heat damage this early and have to start all over agin. So please…help me! Thanks for this wonderful opportunity.
