October 24 was such a beautiful day in NYC. I was in town for the Simply Stylist fashion and beauty conference, and received a special invite to attend the Skin Inc skincare launch event at Sephora going on the entire weekend. After a long morning of sight-seeing, shopping, and walking the streets of NY, we were excited to arrive at the Skin Inc event at Sephora to learn more about the skincare brand and receive mini facials using the products.
Skin Inc is a Japan-based brand that is launching here in the US at Sephora stores, first in NY and then across the country. Skin Inc’s customized skincare solutions empowers the consumer to create their own fuss-free skincare regimen. The product line included nine serums, two cleansers, an exfoliator, a mask and a moisturizer – all of which are paraben and scent free.
Luxury skincare brand Skin Inc revealed a new way to decode your skin’s unique characteristics with the launch of Skin Identity, an online tool that helps you understand your skin, what it needs, and which products are best to meet its needs. I had to opportunity to use the tool, and answer a series of questions about my lifestyle and environment. Then Skin Identity diagnosed my skin’s condition and key concerns that need to be addressed. Once this is complete, you can custom-blend a daily serum using three of the nine serums available in the product line. You even get to choose the color of the bottle for your My Daily Dose serum (it’s the small things).
The My Daily Dose serum customized for me included the reinforce ceramid serum, replenish hyaluronic acid serum, and relieve licorice serum because my skin is often dehydrated and irritated. The esthetician who worked with me, Eliza of EyeBrow Energy, mixed my serum while taking time to thoroughly explain the purpose of each serum. Then she started the mini facial. LIFE WAS GIVEN TO MY FACE.
Above is my before picture. Keep in mind I was a bad beauty blogger and had not removed my makeup from the night before because I left my makeup remover wipes at home. So my foundation was still in tact. Eliza started with the Pure Prodew Cleansing Foam to remove any makeup, dirt and sebum for the first step. My skin felt so hydrated and fresh afterwards, which I was impressed with. Next, she used the Pure Revival Peel, which is a non-abrasive peel that gently removes dead skin and prepares the skins to absorb all the goodness.
The My Daily Dose customs serum was applied next, followed by the Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask. This mask can be rinsed off after a few minutes, or you can sleep in it overnight (no worries – its clear even after it dries so you won’t scare anyone). The mask was left on my face for about 10 minutes before she gently removed it and finished off the mini facial with the Pure Repair Dew, a dew-like moisturize that replenishes skin’s moisture and clarifies the skin.
I know you may not be able to tell much difference in the before and after, but considering I still had on makeup in the before picture, that alone speaks volumes. If my skin could talk it would tell you that it is in 20 times better shape that before. A week later as I’m writing this post, I can tell the difference still in my skin. Normally I would have needed to use a scrub mid-week to give my skin a smooth finish, but I haven’t felt the need. My skin feel so soft and smooth every morning; I’m totally impressed and really enjoyed my experience at Sephora with Skin Inc and their skin care team.
Skin Inc is now available in the US at www.iloveskininc.com and select Sephora stores, so definitely check these products out. If you’re in the NY area, and in need of esthetician services like a facial or eyebrow shaping, definitely see Eliza of EyeBrow Energy – she was absolutely amazing!
