Mr. Blakes and I decided to hit the streets one lovely evening for a night out dancing and listening to music. I wanted to have a neutral makeup look that would work for night time, but not so much that it would be overkill for day time. I used my go to neutral eye shadow palette, which I got form $3 from five below. I covered my lid with a brown matte shadow close to my skin color, went in with a darker brown in the corners for slightly smokey effect, and then added a shimmery taupe on the lid. Super simple.
I used two Rimmel London products with this look. First up is one of my favorite lip glosses, the Show Off lip lacquer by Rimmel London. I have this is a red and this nude shimmery color pictured, and I absolutely love these lip products. They glide on easy, are moisturizing, and very pigmented for a gloss. The Scandal Eyes eye liner I received complimentary from Influenster in my Frosty Vox Box, and it is now my new favorite. Again, it glides on easy, has great sheen, and was creamy for a pencil I must say.
I stumbled across the dermalogica clearing mattifier from one of my beauty subscription boxes, and thought I’d give it a shot. My hope was that it would keep the oil at bay for the night, and I was pleasantly surprised at how matte it kept my face, especially my T zone. It goes on clear and feels light on the skin. I did my makeup at 9:30pm. The pictures in this post were all taken around 2am when I got home from the night out. No filters, editing, or special lighting. Can you believe it??? I’ve been using it every since. and I plan to buy a full size one when my sample runs out.
What products do you use for oil control?
