Earlier this week, reality TV star Porsha Williams of Real Housewives of Atlanta revealed a new hair cut. Porsha can always be seen wearing weaves, even launching her own line of premium quality virgin human hair extensions called Go Naked Hair. But Porsha’s natural hair is actually pretty long. Who knew?! I guess using weaves as her go-to protective style while keeping her own natural hair healthy is working for her.

Porsha posted a sneak peek of her new short hair cut in progress. What a huge difference, right? Jasmine called it the Big Chop, and that is truly is compared to how long it was before.

The new do was created by celebrity stylist and “cut master” Jasmine “Razor Chic of Atlanta” Collins, an advocate for “real hair” who is known for inspiring women to ditch their dependency on weaves, wigs, and braids for a healthy mane of their own. I don’t know if this counts as the Big Chop, but Jasmine definitely let the shears fly on Porsha’s hair. Here’s a look at the finished style.

Maybe you don’t know who Jasmine is, but you’ve probably seen the video of one of her clients who experienced severe traction alopecia from improper care of her hair extension. The video went viral on social media.

Jasmine is also a well respected, award winning master hair stylist, with her own brand of hair shears. So Porsha’s hair was in good hands, literally. So far, Porsha is getting some mixed reactions to the new cut. While most of her fans seem to be loving the short do, some say they like her look better with long hair. We think it’s edgy and chic! And when you have your own line of hair extensions, you can always add more in anyway. #Perks.
