On May 9, 2019, students, teachers, and health advocates across the state came together to change the way Virginians think about water for the seventh annual Rev Your Bev Day. Rev Your Bev Day is a statewide day of action to raise awareness about the incredible health benefits you can see by making water your No. 1 beverage of choice.
Water is the best way to stay hydrated, but there’s also sparkling water, unsweetened teas, and fruit-infused water. In celebration, schools submitted recipes to make drinking water more fun. One of the winning recipes caught my attention. It was submitted by Children’s Harbor, and the ingredients are strawberry and blackberry.
I have a frozen berry mix of raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries so I decided to put my own spin on their recipe and give it a try. I filled a pitcher about a third full with frozen berries, and added water until the pitcher was almost full. If you are just making enough water for yourself, you can fill a glass a third of the way full with frozen berries and add water. So delicious!
As a new mom, it is so important to drink lots of water. Not only is it good for me, but sets a great example for my son. Drinking plenty of water is the most basic thing that helps our body renew itself. Drinking more water helps ensure your energy levels stay up. Drinking water helps to improve your focus. Water helps your brain think faster.
