Blogger Week™ 2014, a multicultural festival of bloggers, journalists and social media mavens hosted by Black Bloggers Connect, took place April 28th – May 3rd. Blogger Week™ featured four days of online festivities and two days of in-person events including: Twitter parties, Google Hangouts, workshops, panels, and networking events.
Over 200 bloggers participated in events for the First Annual Blogger Week. I attended two of the in-person events in Washington, DC and Silver Spring, MD with fellow blogger Deanna of NaturallyCreole. The Blogger Week™ Networking Mixer was on May 2nd and gave attendees the opportunity to meet, greet, learn more about each other and our blogs.

The Blogger Week™ UnConference took place May 3rd. The Blogger Week UnConference featured hot-topic discussions and breakout sessions to promote innovation, creativity and success for bloggers and social media mavens. I was privileged to sit on the Big Business of Beauty Blogging panel with Yolanda of Etc Blog Mag and Erin of Bag Ladies Radio, where we had the opportunity to answer commonly asked questions about beauty blogging and respond to questions from from attendees.
Some of the other sessions presented included Ultimate Guide to Digital Monetizing, Social Media Strategies, and Branding in the Digital Age. I really enjoyed each of the sessions I attended. The speakers were engaging and informative, and appropriate for the novice and the expert blogger. I also enjoyed engaging with the other bloggers who attended, and even reconnected with someone I went to college with.
