Naturally Glam covered Fashion Gallery’s New York Fashion Week 2015 shows for Fall/Winter. Dana Jackson’s Individualized Decay collection was featured during the Emerging Designers show. Recently graduated from Philadelphia University, American designer Dana Jackson is eager to make her imprint on the fashion industry. Heavily inspired by travel, art, and music. Her most recent collection Individualized Decay represents just that. Inspired by her most recent trip to Dakar, Senegal, she was deeply impacted by her visit to the infamous Goree Island, once a stop on the Atlantic Slave Trade.
The beauty within the deteriorating buildings intrigued her instantly – bright colors, a variety of textures, pattern, depth – each building containing its own history and untold story. She embarked upon a journey to create a collection that told those stories: to demonstrate the beauty within what is deemed ugly by its horrific past. Representing a woman who is confident, poised, and intrigued by the world’s ambience, Dana Jackson’s designs truly captures the essence of her muse.
Beautiful work. Went to school with your mom and Ka. and Ki. I’m a jazz singer known as sistalinda. I am always on the lookout for beautiful fashion for stage. I like the elegance and flow of the looks you have created. Lets talk.
