The Neighborhood Harvest is a hydroponic farm located in Suffolk, VA. Neighborhood Harvest delivers organic produce and groceries straight to your door each week if you’re in the Hampton Roads and Richmond areas of Virginia. They delivered some of their best sellers for me to try and share with the Glam Fam. Use the code GLAM to waive the $30 sign up fee when you place your first order.

Since Neighborhood Harvest grows their own greens hydroponically and deliver them shortly after harvest, they stay fresh longer than grocery store lettuce. They never use pesticides or GMOS, and only parter with other farms/artisans that believe in the same methods.

Here are some of the snacks, meals, and even dessert that I made with their best selling pics!

Snack Time with Hummus

Hummus is one of our favorite dips, so I was excited when I saw Neighborhood Harvest freshly made hummus. Homemade potato chips were also including in my delivery, which is the perfect match with hummus. My husband and the toddler really enjoyed it!

Hummus also goes great with veggies too, so I created this nice tray with hummus, homemade chips, mini sweet peppers, and Persian cucumbers – all from Neighborhood Harvest.

Local Blueberries

We love blueberries around here, or as my toddler calls them – boo berries. These blueberries tasted so delicious! I made a small garden salad using the Mesclun salad greens, red slicer tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, mini sweet peppers, and added some blueberries on top.

Homestead Creamery provides milk for Neighborhood Harvest customers, and there was a simple recipe for a milkshake right on the bottle. I decided to make a Purple Cow – basically a blueberry milkshake. For 2 servings, I used 2 cups of Homestead Creamery 2% milk, 4 packets of zero calorie sweetener, 1 cup of blueberries, and lots of ice. Blend it up, and it turns purple! This was so refreshing, especially in this summer weather.

Burger Night Success

I received two grass fed burger patties, and decided these would be great for Burger Night. I seasoned the patties with Everything But The Bagel seasoning, and cooked them in my Ninja Foodi on the air fryer setting.

I served these on burger buns topped with red slicer tomato slices and Bibb lettuce from Neighborhood Harvest. On the side, I added those homemade potato chips I talked about earlier. You can certainly taste the difference in grass-fed vs conventional beef burgers.

When I first discovered the Neighborhood Harvest years ago at a farmers market, we signed up but found that we just weren’t eating that many greens. We are more focused on organic, plant-based foods and grass-fed meats. Now with all of these options available, I definitely think we will be signing back up for this delivery service.
