Taraji P. Henson is the actress we all love to love. Not just because she is a powerhouse on screen. But because we all feel like she’s our big sister who supports us but will tell us when we are dead wrong. Seeing her each week on her recurring role as Cookie on Fox’s Empire, has made up fall for her even more. She always looks stunning, so it was no surprise that M.A.C Cosmetics has collaborated with Taraji P. Henson for a new collection.
Called M.A.C Taraji, the collection will contain products to re-create Henson’s signature look of “the quintessential nude lip and perfectly defined noir eye.” The collection will include six pieces – a black eyeliner, mascara, two shades of Mineralize Skinfinish, a face brush, and a lipstick called Strip Me Down. The collection is set to launch in select markets on September 6.
I love, love, LOVE a neutral lipstick, so I am very excited about Strip Me Down. Confession: I’ve never purchased anything from M.A.C. before because that’s not my price point and I’m not ashamed to say it. But this deep tone beige and matte lipstick has me rethinking my stance. I think I can afford at least one tube, right? At $17 retail price, I might have to go ahead and treat myself to this.
We’re also excited about Taraji’s new movie ‘Hidden Figures’ set to hit theaters at the top of 2017. Hidden Figures is the incredible untold story of Katherine Johnson, played by Taraji P. Henson, Dorothy Vaughn, played by Octavia Spencer, and Mary Jackson, played by Janelle Monáe. These brilliant African-American women working at NASA, served as the brains behind the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big. Check out the trailer below!

I love the look on her. She has always been one of my favorite actresses, and yes..she is like a sister who would tell you like it is. I would definitely try this lipstick and l love the eyeshadow she has on as well.

You have no idea how happy I am about this collection. I’m definitely going to purchase something from it. This says a lot because I haven’t purchased a collection from MAC in a while.
I can’t wait until this launches. I love me a nude lip and I have several by MAC but I always need more. I’m so proud of her, to have her own MAC collection MAJOR. Plus she is from the DMV (Oxon Hill, MD) area.
