Last night, I spent the afternoon safely indoors (it was raining quite a bit) with a great group of naturalistas in the 757 at the Good Hair Day Series event in Hampton, Va. The Good Hair Day Series are events created specifically to accommodate the individuals who are seeking options on how to maintain healthy hair, styles and color. It also answers their needs for product education, support and an overall the desire to enhance their God given beauty.
I was so excited to be an attendee at an event for a change, so I could get my ‘blog’ on. The event kicked off with special guest Celebrity Stylist April B sharing hair care tips and information on Sof’n Free products who gave away samples of their hair care line to guests. Next was my homegirl and fellow blogger/vlogger Makeup Artist Ashley Marie, who blogs under the name Curly Cubaminican. She picked an audiece member to demonstrate a day-time makeup look on, and answered questions from the audience.
Next up was hair stylies Deshonica Kerrie, who talked about transitioning as well as safely straightening natural hair. And lastly, there was a grand finale reveal of two guests who were made over from head to toe by April B, Ashley, and Up Next Boutique owner Rhashida who gave them an entire outfit from her store. Nerissa Allen, natural hair stylist, also did a hair style right at the event for an attendee!
Congratulations to Ria Scott who helped to organize the event here in Hampton on a job well done. Looking forward to more events!
