Book Release & Giveaway: Dramas of a Bald Head Queen

Its not every day that someone you know has their first book release.  So I’m elated to share that today, Nina C. Brewton released her first book entitled ‘Dramas of a Bald Head Queen’!!!  How exciting is that!

If you attended the Glamorous Life Natural Hair Fashion Show in May, then you had the opportunity to hear the words and songs of Nina Brewton live and in living color.  Nina is a gem, so whether you are an avid reader or not, this is a book you should add to your collection.

Here are a few words about the book from author herself:

“I came into this world as a daughter named Nina Ligon.  I was the rebel Queen Nina, the student Anin and have questioned the image in the mirror asking, “Who is this woman? NinAnin?”  Now, I stand confidently as a woman of God and wife, Mrs. Raphael Brewton…”

‘Dramas of a Bald Head Queen’ is a memoir that takes a look at the girl I was, the woman I am, giving the reader a glimpse of the road that I’ve travelled, finding my way to the one thing that has always kept me upright and moving forward: The Love of Christ.

I can say that I relate to word “Drama.” July 4th, 2008, 12 midnight, my daughters and I were in the fight of our lives. My ex-fiance who is the biological father to my eldest child, attempted to kill us. He had been abusing Heroine and we were all in hopes that he had quit. But the situation proved that he hadn’t. I taught my children the worth or prayer and they have experienced what prayer can do. During the altercation, my 11 yr old, who was 8 at the time, screamed out the Lords prayer. And I am certain that God dispatched angels as she prayed because our attacker released me and looked at my babygirl and immediately ended the altercation. To this day, I call my babygirl my angel and I thank God for parents and a stable church home that taught me the worth of prayer that I was able to extend that to my own children and they experience what God can do through prayer. <3

  2. I can say I relate to DRAMA the most. In 2011 I turned that word around and got AMARD which means Aiding Meaningful Anointed Restoration Daily. This was my person journey to restore myself back into a meaningful life that I wasn’t ashamed to live. Making some decisions I shouldn’t have and owning what I had to, made me into the person I am today.

  3. I relate to “Queen” because I am the daughter of the Most High, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. No matter what hurdled I’ve faced in last, I am always reminded to hold my head high. I know who am I, because of the He that lives in me. I don’t have to walk around feeling defeated, rejected, unloved, worthless, etc., because as I continue on this journey called life, Jesus walks with me. Because of Him, I am a Precious, Priceless, Queen.
