Last night, I headed out of the 757 over to the next zip code just north, the 804. Richmond, VA – also known as RVA – is our nation’s capital, and it is just about an hour and a half away from the 757. So it was a no-brainer when I heard about The Beauty Bash to snack up a VIP ticket before they sold out.
The Beauty Bash is presented by Sophi Chic, took place on Saturday, June 16 from 6p-9p at Kai in downtown Richmond. Brandi Ramsey, owner of Sophi Chic, says her mission is the bring “a sophisticated chic experience” to her clients and guests. The purpose of the event was to bring the top beauty businesses in Richmond together all in one place to share their services with attendees, and also to raise money for the local YMCA and support women and children dealing with domestic violence. You know your girl loves a fun event with a charitable spin, right? Right!
Since I purchased a VIP ticket, I was able to choose two beauty services to receive while I was at the event. I chose the mini manicure, which was done by Precision One Salon and Spa. Next up was a chair massage, which was done by Waterfalls Salon & Massage. Both services were marvelous and professional, and have me planning a weekend getaway for Hubby and I to come to Richmond and hit up both! Other options for services were eyebrow threading, makeup artistry, and eyelash extension installation.
One of the sponsors beating faces at the event was my girl and official Naturally Glam makeup artist, La’Cretia Baskerfield – owner of Coalesce MUA. She worked her skills on my girl Danielle, who was also in attendance (who I could have rolled with but she didn’t tell me she was going so I had to drive myself, but I ain’t mad…).

The event featured several vendors to shop from, and I purchased a few things. I picked up a really cute cocktail ring for $10 from Statement LLC, and a lip gloss for $12 from Tahira Cosmetics – both based out of the Richmond area.
Let me just forewarn you that you will be seeing the Tahira lip gloss I purchased in my June Favorities! Owner Eboni Russell was just a doll, and help me choose the perfect color, and I’m in love.

Epic Curls was also there, and they had lots of the top brands of natural hair products for sale. There were also light refreshments provided, and guests received a free cocktail during the first hour.

Of course, I missed out because I was too busy trying to get my mini mani – but after that the drinks were half price, which was still a great deal. Skinny Girl was in the building offering free ‘shots’ of the Skinny Girl vodka for guests as well, which was not bad at all especially if you want to get your drink on and watch the calories as well.
I also got to meet one of my subscribers, which is always a treat! Her name is Christa Lee, and she is the owner of Sweet Trinity Aromatherapy.
And you know it would only be right that your girl won a door prize! Yes sir! I won a $50 gift certificate to Main Street Spa & Wellness Center. I can’t wait to use that bad boy. Overall, this event was definitely a sophisticated and chic experience. I truly had a great time, and I can’t wait until Brandi’s next event!
