My Style-My Look: Black, White & Red

Hubby & I were invited to a house party at a friend’s home on Saturday night, and the attire was cocktail so I was excited to get dressed up a bit. To start, I knew I wanted to wear this polka dot party dress that I’ve just recently been able to fit. I love this dress because its not super short, and its super comfy – and I love the ruffle bottom! But wasn’t quite sure what to do next? So I turned to YouTube since I knew lots of my favority video makers were posting NYE look ideas. The one that inspired me was ShirleyBEniang’s look book. Since the top she had featured polka dots, I thought this would be a perfect look to inspire me with my polka dot dress.

I also loved the idea of wearing a white blazer – and since I had one, I had no choice!

She also wore black tights with this look, and that was also something I wanted to do. Though it is not terribly cold, I didn’t want to wear my bare legs.

So here’s the look I came up with. I decided to wear my earrings as my statement piece instead of a necklace like she did. And I had to carry a red clutch instead of the black for a pop of color (and because hubby was supposed to be wearing a red shirt – but he didn’t LOL).
